That’s Obvious.
Conversation a few minutes ago:
Terribly Annoying Woman: Yesterday Betty said she couldn’t believe no one else at her table liked science fiction. I love science fiction!
Sally: Yeah, not me. I like humans. I don’t do wookiees or aliens or hobbits.
TAW: Not all science fiction is wookiees, you know. A lot of it is thinking.
Sally: (cheerily) I guess I don’t like thinking!
TAW: Well, that’s obvious.

No, this is a new, annoying lady–not the one who called me parsimonious (!) or the one with the sprig. I don’t have to work with this one every day, thank god.

OMG. I love this. First of all, you hurt her nerd feelings, apparently.
Second of all, FACE!

Was this the girl that knew gorjus from the comic book store?

Sally, today for work, I had to stop by a building that’s in the same office-park-y place as your building, and I almost took the liberty of stopping by your wowrk place, but I didn’t because that might be scary. But if I HAD stopped by, I could’ve met the science fiction queen, the hair sprig lady, and other assorted people of the night. Now I can thank mysetlf for giving myself yet another regret to add to the list!
Also your woman needs to meet this girl that I work with who is a read-aloud-a-holic. This girl does not solely read sci-fi out loud, but she has the same inability to joke about it, and I think that this trait (or lack thereof?) might make her the WWITA’s soul-mate.
